Backstory:
Before we get into the details about our LC70 Pillar Bracket, I'll give you a quick rundown on why we brought this product to market; a couple of weeks before Christmas 2022, I cut, fold and paint a bracket that bolted to the RHS grab handle so that I had a mechanical 'bolt-on' phone mount that wouldn't be affected by the summer heat and corrugation on a trip up to the Victorian High Country. That original bracket has seen Kosciuszko NP, the Victorian High Country, South Australia, Barrington Tops, and the worst of Sydney's potholes.
This type of bracket has kept my accessories secure for 18 months now, and I thought it was time to chat with Thorburns Fabrication about making some adjustments to the design and bringing them to market. Hopefully it can provide an ideal solution for you legends too!
I now use the LHS bracket to secure either my passenger's phone or my Osmo Pocket 3. This is a great position to film some footage of the tracks you're tackling as it is out of the way and being mounted, it's protected.
Here are the features of the finished product:
- Made right here in Australia by Thorburns Fabrication Pty. Ltd.
- 3mm Aluminium powder coated black
- Easy to fit: just loosen the top bolt of the grab handle, remove the bottom bolt and put the same factory bolt straight through the grab handle and Pillar Bracket, with the Pillar Bracket between the pillar and the grab handle. Tighten firmly.

- You can also mount the Osmo Pocket 3 if you purchase the Action Camera Head from Quad Lock, and the OP3SL8 from Camgo.
- The Pillar Bracket has two height settings to help you optimise the viewing angle; it features 3 holes to secure the Quad Lock Flat Rectangular Base (the two hole version). This combined with the adjustability offered by the Quad Lock Dual pivot arm will ensure your accessory can be fitted in the perfect position for you.
