This 3 Layer Door Deadening Kit suits LC79 Series Dual Cab and LC76 Series StationWagon vehicles with electric windows. The material supplied is for the front and rear doors on the sides of the vehicle, it does not include material for the barn doors at the rear of the vehicle LC76 Series StationWagon model.
3 Layer Deadening Kit inclusions:
- One layer of Car Builders 'Sound Deadener' to install on the inside of the outer skin
- One layer of Car Builders 'Acoustic Liner' to install in the lower half of the door on the outer skin
- One layer of Car Builders 'Sound Deadener' to install on the inside of the inner skin (replacing the plastic vapour sheet)
- One Roll of Car Builders 'Foil Tape'
What it the purpose of this kit?
- Reduced Noise: One of the primary reasons people sound deaden their car doors is to reduce road noise and vibrations. This can make for a quieter and more enjoyable ride, especially on highways or rough roads.
- Improved Audio Quality: By reducing external noise, vibrations and reverberation, this kit also improves the sound quality of aftermarket audio systems.
- Thermal Insulation: Some sound deadening materials also have insulating properties, which can help regulate the temperature inside your car; keeping the cabin cooler in hot weather and warmer in cold weather.
Additional items.... Here are the additional items we use for this installation (not included in the kit):
- Trim removal tools
- Wax and Grease Remover
- Clean rag
- Roller
- Gloves (the edges on the door can be sharp!)
Installation...
- View our YouTube time-lapse here for an installation guide. Here are our tips:
- Remove the plastic vapour sheet
- Clean every surface you will be applying material to thoroughly with Wax and Grease Remover, including the face of the 'Sound Deadener' installed in the inside of the outer skin before securing the 'Acoustic Liner'
- Use gloves during the installation to avoid cutting your hands on the sharp edges on the door
- Use a roller or similar to apply pressure to the material once it is positioned
